How to increase incomes on eBay?

It’s a question that, I suppose, a great number of sellers are asking themselves.. including you!  If your eBay sales are not increasing or are not the amount you expect, maybe you have to reflect on your habits.

Here we are, facing marketing strategies and strategies of content optimization.

If you cannot make money through eBay, the motivations can be various: let’s try to have a clear overview.

Case 1: Users cannot find your listings

If, by doing a search, you do not find your item, maybe you have to check these details: (we are asking you questions but you, and only you, can find the answers!)

  • Have you added some keywords in the title of the item, useful for the users’ search?
  • Have you listed the item in the right department?

Case 2: You are new to eBay and you have not so much reliability

If you have already launched your eBay shop as a consequence you are not well known by the users. And the fewer feedback you get, the fewer reliability you have. This could be the reason why your incomes are lower than your expectations. For this reason, eBay created the labels Power Seller and Top rated seller (see the previous article), criteria that help to evaluate the seller according to reliability, professionalism and trust. Find out what the requisite to achieve these statuses are!

Case 3: The listing has to be improved

We give you some pieces of advice to think about what do you offer to your clients:

  • Are the descriptions well done? Are there the details needed by the buyer?
  • Is there any clear photo of the item you are selling?
  • Do you use visual messages, banner or graphic templates to catch the users’ attention?

Case 4: Your services can be improved

The aspects a professional buyer must reflect on are:

  • Do not create ambiguity about the shipping costs: always be clear about the costs that the user have to pay for;
  • Do not cheat on the delivery time: the user has expectations... do not disappoint him/her!
  • Do not sell an item that you have not in stock or that is difficult to find: you will tackle with negative feedback;
  • Take care of the item’s package: the right package can prevent damages during the delivery;
  • Begin a good relationship with your clients. To do so you can use the eBay’s messaging system;
  • Be prepared to cope with problems as delay in the delivery, damaged goods, etc.: just common courtesy can make the difference;
  • Add, inside your package, a leaflet or a business card of yours: the client will remember you.

Many little things to think of that, maybe, can make the difference. We hope to be useful by dealing with your main goal: increase the incomes!
